AUTOMATIC CONTROL SYSTEM OF STEAM TURBINES
It is proposed automatic control system for governing rotation frequency of steam turbines, which serves as drives of compressors, smoke exhausters, pumps of different types in the fields of chemistry production, metallurgy and industrial heat-and-power engineering.
Updated at existing equipment the system, related to fine automatic adjusting of turbines revolutions, is protected with patent, approved with turbines manufacturers and successfully operated at 12 industrial turbines of SC "Concern Stirol" during 20 months without any malfunction.
Computerization of remote control of turbounit load enables to adjust procedure of process compression in narrow range of revolutions ±3 revolutions per minute, exclude occurrence of critical operational modes (surging, cavitation) of dynamic equipment, increase efficiency of the plant with following decrease of power-generating steam consumption, extend turnaround time of main equipment.
Economic saving after invention implementation is based on the following factors:
- increase of productivity of turbounit and technology as whole due to extension of turnaround time;
- stability of revolutions and, as the result, reduction of steam specific consumption, depreciation costs and manpower;
- versatility of the proposed system in this specific application;
- reduction of production costs.
